    David Bergen Wins Giller Prize

    David Bergen has been named the 2005 winner of The Scotiabank Giller Prize, a literary prize for fiction in Canada. Bergen won for his novel The Time In Between, published by McClelland & Stewart. The announcement was made at an gala dinner and award ceremony.

    Giller Prize Finalists Announced

    The Scotiabank Giller Prize has announced its 2005 shortlist. The five finalists were selected by a jury panel comprised of authors Warren Cariou, Elizabeth Hay and Richard B. Wright. The five finalists were chosen from 94 books submitted for consideration. Here are the finalists:
  • Joan Barfoot for her novel Luck (Knopf Canada)
  • David Bergen for his novel The Time In Between (McClelland and Stewart)
  • Camilla Gibb for her novel Sweetness in the Belly (Doubleday Canada)
  • Lisa Moore for her novel Alligator (House of Anansi Press)
  • Edeet Ravel for her novel A Wall of Light (Random House Canada)
